Epitope As The Teeth

a: Antibody ~
b: an uncut key, epitope is the teeth

What: Many antibody analogies floating around on the web. Many lock and key associations many things biologic; enzymes, antibodies, and others. But to be a little more specific, an antibody contains a specific region, an epitope which provides the specificity of an antibody's binding. Without this specific sequence, an antibody could not bind to a specific antigen. The epitope region is the teeth on the key.
